Year of 2011 was my parents' 20th anniversary. I wanted to give them something special as a gift. Then I realized, it has been 10 years from a tragedy that happened to my family. The plane crash in the background represents the tragedy but I wanted to focus on the young married couple in the front. Either things are good or bad in our life, we need to keep them as a part of our life but we should walk forward to hopeful future.

Graphite pencil, ink pens and India ink
I used a photograph from 1994 of my father and I to draw this. I made the background misty and put two flying whales on it. Although, the whale stands out more than two figures in the front, it gives me a sense of dream and surrealism.
